Uruguay is recognized worldwide for being a great exporter of soccer players to the main leagues. And a large part of these players are born in the interior of the country.
Through sport, education and values we aim to have an increasingly developed and competitive club with local talent.
SALTO: CRADLE OF GREAT PLAYERS THROUGHOUT HISTORY.
We are a Uruguayan professional football club that represents the department of Salto. Founded in 2002, made up of the union of several local teams and leagues and with the effort, work and dedication of many people at both a sporting, social and political level.
Salto FC managed to compete in 2003, 2004 and 2005 in Divisional B, being close to obtaining promotion to the first Divisional A.
As a result of the excellent campaign, and in a time where communications and globalization were not current, Salto FC became known worldwide and in that short period managed to open the doors for 6 players to continue their path in professional teams. of the outside.
For 18 years there was interest in Salto having a professional soccer team again. There was a lot of talk about it and there were even two projects that failed to come to fruition.
Finally in 2020, with the help of two former soccer players from the Salto national team and members of that Salto FC, an investment group took the project as its own.
During that year, 2020, we worked together with the former Salto FC Board of Directors and a team of professionals to identify the best path to reestablish Salto FC at a professional level at the AUF level.
Thus, it was finally possible to gather all the elements for Salto FC to return to professional competition permanently. Different meetings were held in Salto to communicate the objectives of the project and join forces behind this common goal. This time the beginning was in the First Amateur Division.
This return of Salto FC, then, comes from the hand of an investment group with business experience and a marked long-term vision. A strategic plan and a path were developed with various milestones that are being met year after year.
In 2020 we dedicated ourselves to preparing the documentation and designing the path that would be followed in the following years and the milestones that would mark our evolution.
In 2021, the team's qualification was reestablished at the AUF level and it competed in the first division, obtaining 6th place among 21 participants.
It was a beginning marked by the difficulties associated with the preparation of a new professional team, in a city that has local soccer and its local leagues deeply rooted. This meant that in our first year we had a large part of our team coming from other departments.
In 2022, commitments and agreements were generated with local teams, strengthening our squad with players from the department plus some experienced references who came from other professional teams.
This year the fourth and fifth categories were added, emerging as champions of the silver B cup, winning the opening, closing and annual tournaments. Being also the scorers in both categories and being the least beaten fence.
In 2023, already starting a third year of competition, we complete the Sub16, Sub15 and Sub14 categories and compete in the B gold cup where the rivals have another career, another experience, and are mostly youth teams from teams that compete in the First Division A and B.
Our team and our structure evolved and matured in different aspects, both sporting, organizational, cultural, procedures, support from society, etc., which is reflected in the competitiveness of our team.
Our team and our structure evolved and matured in different aspects, both sporting, organizational, cultural, procedures, support from society, etc., which is reflected in the competitiveness of our team.
The evolution is clearly visualized from playing 17 games in 2021 with a single category, to 34 games in 2022 with three categories, reaching 2023 where we will exceed 130 games in 6 categories.
Salto FC will make more than 60 trips to Montevideo, Colonia, Rocha, Tacuarembó, etc., while our city will be receiving delegations from all these departments on more than 60 occasions a year.
Salto FC trains and competes at the Juan José Vispo Mari STADIUM, which is licensed by the Uruguayan Football Association.
It has been a priority of the work team carrying out the project to ensure adequate locations to carry out its activity, and in this sense, Salto FC will have very suitable facilities, covering the entire spectrum of needs.
It is the scene of the matches in which Salto FC officiates at home, both in the First Division and in the youth teams.
Since its inception, Salto FC has developed improvements in the environment, accesses, changing rooms, and perimeter fencing to ensure the security conditions required by AUF. Salto FC has a planned medium and long-term improvement plan that includes the installation of LED lighting, synthetic grass, new bathrooms, etc.
The stadium has stands in the east and west sectors with a seated capacity of 4,000 people, although due to the large terrain that surrounds the playing field, the total capacity is at least double that.
The stadium is located in a place with easy access, both from the center of the city and for those arriving from the south on Route 3 or from the east, on Route 31. In fact, access to the stadium has only recently been made, as well Like the parking area, they have been renovated to improve their functionality.
Salto FC plans to build a sports complex with four 11-a-side soccer fields, a gym and a swimming pool to be able to carry out training in a place that brings together all categories.
